At the event, Cătălin Ciumag, Managing Director of Delbridge Romania, shared a clear message: the CFO role is expanding from financial steward to decision architect. As uncertainty increases and expectations rise, finance can no longer focus only on reporting, month-end close, and budget ownership. It also needs to create the conditions for faster planning, better forecasting, stronger cross-functional alignment, and more informed decision-making across the organization.

A key theme in Cătălin’s session was the practical role of AI in that shift. Rather than viewing AI as a future concept, he positioned it as a real enabler for finance teams today — helping reduce manual effort, support scenario planning, accelerate forecasting, and give teams more time to focus on insight, judgment, and strategic action.
