Since 2015 the BI Connector has been the preferred solution for those wanting to connect BI tools to MongoDB and produce reports. On September 30, 2026, the BI Connector comes to the end of life. The SQL Interface is the successor solution. In many ways, it is an improvement over the BI connector.

Every report, dashboard, and ETL pipeline you run today leans on the translation layer the BI Connector quietly provided. When it retires, that layer disappears, and all the logic it handled behind the scenes becomes your responsibility to rebuild. The longer this sits untouched, the higher the chance your reporting breaks the moment September 30 arrives.
